The rose she loved now blooms alone,
For the sweet maiden has now gone home.
Though she sleeps, a song so sweet,
Wafts through the Glen upon the breeze.
And now beneath the rose entwined,
There meets the two with love sublime.
They kneel beneath the blossoms sweet,
And pass the day in memory.
While here a promise they re-new,
Which ended with the world they knew.
A sacred vow only true love knows,
Was spoken beneath the wild rose.
